TRICKTAKERs (トリックテイカーズ) is the asymmetric trick-taking card game by Hiroken, published by Joyple Games and in English by Portland Game Collective, for three to five players. Every player at the table plays the same tricks for a different reason: each round you draft a character, and its card overrides the rulebook. This is the free browser version — play against trained AI opponents, or with friends online through a room code, in English or German.
The deck is 40 cards: four suits of 1 to 9 — red, blue, green and black, and black is trump — plus two Rare cards and two White Flags, which belong to no suit. A round deals five cards each, then the characters are chosen in priority order and each player sets theirs up: the King adds a Rare card, the Gambler swaps cards and stakes points on a bid, the Hermit draws and discards, the Berserker throws its hand away for the Berserker deck. Then five tricks are played: follow the led suit if you can, the highest trump wins, otherwise the highest card of the led suit, and a Rare beats them all.
The King scores more for every trick and wins the game outright on five. The Hermit wants none: zero tricks is 50 points and a black crown. The Resistance loses four tricks and then declares a Revolt on the last, where the lowest card wins — with a black card, it wins the game. The Gambler bets on its own count. The Berserker holds the strongest cards in the box and is weak only to the 1s. Two more characters, the Collector and the Ruler, join in the advanced game.
After the tricks, the most tricks earns a gold crown and zero tricks a black crown. Two gold crowns, three black crowns or a character's own win condition end the game at once; otherwise the most points after three rounds wins, starting from 30 each.
